Can't really tell from the pic but many of those are extruded channel that's riveted in place. You have to drill the rivets out, fill the holes, and repaint.

Others are self adhesive and can usually be removed with the help of a hair drier to soften the grip

I have them on my car. I hate them too.

They are riveted on. I will have them removed when I have the car repainted.

Ah man, i hate those things. Why would anyone order them on the car? Guess they are on permanent sans paint job

They are ugly, but so are door dings? name one's poison. My car escaped the dealer add on. Doors imperfect, but not bad for an 83.


Some decades, I almost bought a decent XJ40. It's doors were badly dinged. Sans "deflectors" though!!


Dealer and I could not agree on $'s. He thought it a real "classic".

Ha ha - same story on the 928 forums. Those with the "rubstrip delete" are highly coveted, and most folks remove when repainting.
