Default catalytic converters (need all 4)

I (and my trusty new mechanic) am having an impossible time locating the catalytic converters for my 1988 XJS Coupe. Negligence by a former once-thought-to-be-competent garage has resulted in them being completely blocked. We have tried all obvious places, dismantlers, auto parts places, etc.......wondering if anyone has any other suggestions. I need California compliant parts, or could have something shipped to Nevada. I'm in Southern California. I have loved the car since 1989 so really want to get it back on the road. Thanks.....info@ochredotgallery.com

New ones are available from jagbits.com

The issue is they are ~$500 each

I am currently in the middle of investigating cat replacements and there are aftermarket CARB certified units that apparently fit in the space of the rear cat but can reduce your emissions to pass CA smog, but I don't have any proof of this. The method would be to leave the front cats in place(you have to have them during visual inspection), but gut them, and replace your rear cats with these new cats and hope that they alone can get you through emissions. Cat technology has advanced a lot in recent years so this may be possible. The problem with aftermarket cats is they tend not to be a direct fit, so you need to give your muffler man some extra $$ to get them to fit

There are companies that rebuild converters. I have had some done on cars where replacements are very expensive or are NLA. Might be worth a Google search.
