Default catalytic converters or not

ok fellas 1988 xjs v12 already removed the resinators (fell off)and anything past there to the back of the car. Just got a little cash from selling my 1966 lincoln. Taking my jag to the muffler shop. for new pipes and mufflers.
should i cut off the catalytic converters or leave them.

looking to get a few more horses and a mean growl from this ride.

what to do????

ive got a set of downpipes with gutted cats for sale.. theyll pass a visual inspection but not a smog test. cat delete is good for a lot of power if your cats are clogged, or you might never notice a difference if theyre not clogged.

anywho, the car sounds way better with them removed.

Yes.

well, just gutting them won't mean re-wealding as you don't have to cut them off/open to gut 'em

I wouldn't. With the cats cut off you'll be dumping a TON of heat right on the firewall and/or trans.

No.

On your car the computer has no idea if the cats are in place or not.

I gutted the cats on each downpipe and removed the other 2 completely, as well as removed the innards of the 4 pipes where they attach to exhaust manifolds. Much throatier sound now, especially with the resonators removed.

I just used a prybar to hollow them out. Just beware not to breathe the dust, it's pretty toxic stuff' so wear a dust mask.

Or you could do a bit for clean air and replace your 24 year old cats with 2 new (and modern) free flow cats.

Just my $.02...

pontiac grand prix? BETTER
mustang GT? WORSE
buick lesabre? WORSE

that being said, i cant think of anything that would make the glorious Jaguar V12 sound anything less than heavenly.
