Unhappy Cigar Lighter

I have a 1990 XJS V12 with a cigar lighter that does not worr but I do have a working replacement. I have looked around a lot but can't find out how to replace the unit. Does anyone know how to do this or could point me to the right information. I would rather not remove the full "ski slope" center console if I don't have to do that. Isit a relatively easy job or should I send it out to a restoration shop or Jag dealer?

Its a simple swap. Take care releasing the four tabs underneath the plastic surround (use plastic trim removers - slide them between the ski slope and surround to slightly push the tab back and 'pop the trim piece up and out) go slow and once removed you can swap out the lighter, I assume you've checked fuses etc?

I did check and the fuse is fine. This seems a bit easy. Are there other parts to the cigar lighter that can be replaced. I have the full lighter including the wiring loom.

Default New Cigar Lighter or Better Idea

I took out my cigar lighter and replaced it with a dual USB Port that fit into the same bracket. It's easy & cheap using the Blue Sea Systems Dual USB Charger Socket

This is the cigar lighter I want to install and so far the suggestions don't allow for the various wiring looms. Any thoughts and do I really need them?

MIFOODIE, Do you need the whole harness or just the lighter? If you have 12V at the plug going into the lighter you can just replace the lighter.

On another point, I used a putty knife to release the lighter bezel from the ski slope.
