Clutch Damper Question
Recently I replaced my clutch master cylinder and the flexible hose that goes to the slave. While ordering the parts, I noticed that the parts diagram specified a clutch damper between the master and the hose. My car was never fitted with such a part (which I don't mind as it really doesn't do much).
There is no mention in the parts catalog of a change being made and the part deleted.
So I'm curious, do any other manual owners have this part? Greg?
This is the part outlined in red.

Cheers,
Allan

Thanks for the photo. I wonder when they decided to delete the damper? Strange that there is no mention of it anywhere?

wiki.answers says "If you do remove the damper the clutch feel will be much stiffer and more responsive, i.e. you will be able to feel more when it engages and disengages."
Do you have also an AJ6 with Getrag 290 gearbox Allan?

Yes Greg, that's the combo I have.
The damper really doesn't do much but soften the feel of clutch engagement. I'm just curious as to the fact that Jag made the change and made no note of it
