Clutch slave cylinder
Hi, I need a new clutch slave cylinder for my 94 XJS 4.0. Im told that my VIN# 189— is out of the range of the only available cylinder, prior to VIN# 188— and it will not work on my vehicle.
Hard to imagine what the change might be that renders it .not usable on my car. Can anyone shed light on this? Thanks for your input

As you haven't posted an Intro in the four years since you registered, welcome to the forums Carmichaels,
I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XJS forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

If all all fails it shouldn't be a problem to overhaul your existing cylinder.
I've used this company with good results; I reckon there are others equally good
Apple Hydraulics

Carmichaels,
The early cars used a clutch damper but I'm not sure if your late car has one? There's a difference in the part number of the pipe that goes from the m/c to the early clutch damper which might question if you have a damper or if the thread fitting on the master cylinder is different on the late cars. Why don't you rings someone like SNG Barratt and ask them if the early cylinder can fit a late car?
Good luck
Paul
