Cooling fan bearing housing
I am trying to re-install the bearing housing and am having an issue with one of the studs. One is threaded on both ends, but it doesn't want to "catch" to tighten in-place. This is the stud that enters into the coolant system, so I'd like to get this right.
Thanks for any suggestions.

At times, a simple thing is hard to describe. I think this is one.
A while back, I had a similar thing in attaching the AC manifold to the rear
of the GM compressor in my car. I considered a cap screw in lieu of the studs that was no longer there. But, deep in the 'hole" alignment was durn near impossible.
So, I slotted the ends of my studs, made from cap screws. A screw driver set them just fine.
Now, a specialty screw shop or a well stocked hardware store might have a more elegant stud. One with a female hex in one or both ends. Use an Allen wrench to secure!!!
Good luck, but beware of stripping. don't ask...
