Default A Couple Of Questions

My speedometer has thus far not worked; I'm fine with that for the moment, I have other pressing issues on my car that take precedence... However: the other day I was headed to work and the speedo needle jumped to my current speed and as I slowed for a light came to rest. As I took off again, the needle worked all the way until the shift to 2nd gear. Is this a transducer issue (anywhere from dirty contacts loose connections, etc)? Or is it a mechanical one (where I'm going to have to take the console apart)?

The other question is one of semantics, I think: one of the more pressing issues on my car is that the suspension bushings need to be replaced. I think all of them. What are those called in a parts cataloge? What should I look for?

Thanks.

Transducer problems are common but so are dirty contacts at the instrument cluster and poor instrument grounds. The cluster can be removed to to clean all the contact points and add a redundant ground. First, though, make sure the transducer wiring has chaffed against the left exhaust pipe.

In the Jaguar parts catalog a bushing is simply called a "bush".
