crank but no spark
new year update, still crank but no spark. To recap this is what I have done so far, new ignition coil, new ignition coil amplifier, new crankshaft position sensor, new coolant temp sensor, new battery, new fuel pump, new distributor cap rotor and plugs and plug wires are relatively new, checked all fuses and relays and inertia switch is ok. So with the key in the on position I get 12.4 volts to positive side of the ignition coil and 12.4 volts to the negative side, which I think that means the ignition coil amplifier is powered up and o volts to center female connection which is for the coil to sender power to the distributor cap. So then with the multi meter set to high voltage I get a reading to the center coil connection while cranking, which I think indicates the ignition coil amplifier is working. Electrical,trouble shooting is not a strong suit for me. Any ideas please!

Are you saying that you have voltage output to the distributor from the coil when cranking? Are you measuring that also at the distributor centre terminal? If so, are you saying that none of the output wires (to the plugs) are then showing any voltage even though voltage is coming into the distributor? That would seem to indicate that your distributor cap / rotor arm is faulty.

Thanks to Paul showing me where to see inputs/ outputs and also the ground wire connections I was able to determine I had one ground wire at the ignition coil area, connected to the ignition amplifier mounting plate and it belonged on the ignition coil mounting bracket. Over the holiday weeks the battery drained down and I think it was because this ground was not in it's proper place and caused a parasite drain down on the battery. So I am charging the battery and will see in the morning if the drain down has stopped and then continue exploring the no spark.

Does anyone know of a good Jag mechanic in miami that can help me trouble shoot my electric and wiring issues. The no spark continues and it is now beyond my limited knowledge on wiring.
