Default cRAZY cAT LaDY

A buddy of mine was over to my shop the other day. As he was looking at my modest collection he said, "Why do you have all of these Jaguars? You're like a crazy cat lady!"

So that got me to thinking....how many Jags does it take to cross into "Crazy Cat Lady" territory?

Mark

Hi Safari, are some of these projects? i notice some don't have plates on them. At least you can say that they are all from the same litter, seeing as they are all V12 xjs's.

I would say you were a collector instead.

I would say "Crazy Cat Lady" territory starts at 36 cylinders or three V12 XJS Convertibles, especially if they are rescue cases you are bringing back to life from a previously abusive home. I also see a coupe, so at four you have legally maxed out the number of Cats you can have in your home while residing with in the city limits. Just one more and you will have to hide it from the Police and prying neighbors. Did you see the price reduction again on that 94 V12 BRG convertible on Craig's list? Can you resist the temptation? Keep telling yourself, just one more, it will be fine!

I also just remembered. The "Crazy Cat Lady" tag automatically applies when you complete a custom tow trailer made out of an XJS!

I'd love to grab that '94 but I have enough projects for now. Why have you not bought it? You NEED it!!

I will be painting the '90 over the winter and hope to get the trailer constructed in time for next summer.

Then I will be preparing an engine to drop into the beige '89. The green '89 will be my daily driver for a while.

The only way, around the number of cats limit, is to get a breeders license.

A modified Triumph Spitfire would make a nice kitten I'd think.

I just don't know if I would make a good owner for a twelve clawed kitty.

But the price keeps going down. . . I must resist . . .Resistance is futile!

I think more than one convertible is an indicator of mental illness.

IMHO More than one v12 puts you into "eccentric" bin, two plus puts you in "looney" bin

Ten speaking from experience.. ;-) And YOU'RE not exactley helping me with that Mark!!!

Dig your shop, I'll get down there soon, been sick as a dog..

Thanks again for the heavy lifting on that and yes, have a buddy with a truck to nab the motor. Looks looks like the air pump is on it BTW, but she's been stripped of the injection rail.

Forgot to ask if the cam towers were dry on that motor? I have a set out at the machine shop, but may need to nab the ones from this motor, as my first spare was so nicely cooked and "machined" by a hack. Thinking about some nifty head porting that I'll key you in on, make her a bit more snappy down low like early flat heads. As jaw dropping as Neville's OE quad cam is, my time meter thanks Mr. Hassan for a single cam, and the design works so well too.

I have some Lattice center caps for you BTW too..

Jeff

Another Kitty comes for a visit.

Fellow forum member, BoulderXJS, came over for a visit today and was very helpful in wrenching on the '88.

His '94 is in beautiful condition and it was fun to shoot-the-breeze with another XJS owner.

Any other Jaguar owners are welcomed to come for a visit. I'm at the shop most weekends. Shoot me a message if you are in the Denver area and we will arrange a kitty play-date.
