Default Dash lighting

Hi guys,
Does anyone have experience of correcting the lighting behind the heater/ a/c controls ona 1990 XJ-S convertible? I think the lighting comes from the fibre-optic unit, but the bulb in that is fine. I would like to know how to remove the heater knobs and the radio facia to check the lights behind the knobs. Any ideas? Thanks. Michael.

The climate control knobs pull straight off. Then you'll see the notchedshaft nuts....use needle nose pliers to undo them, or tap them around with a flat blade screwdriver. With those off the radio surround panel should come free. You may have to remove the radio to gain access to the fibre optics for the controls.

it's been a few years so the details might be a bit off, but hopefully this will get you headed in the right direction.

Cheers
DD
