Default Delanair MkIII Amplifier/ECU

Y'all, Regarding Delanair MKIII Climate Control. I see the terms Amplifier and ECU used frequently and have gotten a little confused. Are these references to the same part located on the passenger side of the unit?

"Amplifier" is the control unit used on the Delanair Mk II systems. It's behind the left cheek panel and is about the size of a pack of Camels.

"Climate Control ECU" is the control unit on the Delaniar Mk III systems. It's behind the the right side cheek panel and has the shape of a grand piano, roughly.

Cheers

Doug,
which is more likely to have failed, amplifier or ECU? Still screwing with this 91 coupe. Have tested EVERYTHING: blend doors, blend door motors, vacuum solenoids, vent motors (vacuum), fan motors, fan rheostat, thermostat potentiometer and new heater valve. Only things left (as far as i know) are amplifier or ECU. As I stated before in a post A/C is not my forte and my knowledge of the Delanair system is FAR greater than i ever wanted it to be at this point, but I have sure learned a LOT with your help and others.
:-)

Doug, misread your message. So you are saying the MKIII has an ECU (the Grand Piano under right cheek) and no amplifier? Is that correct? If so, then everything being checked, more than likely is the ECU then, yes?

Right.

Yes, I'd say so.

Did you clean all those tiny pin connectors? And the ground points?

Cheers

Y. I noticed in another post you had comment you had saved a couple that way, so it was one of the first things i did. used computer cleaning fluid on them, then reassembled using dielectric grease. Think it is just dead.

Doug,
May have been the connector (5 pin) from the back of the thermostat potentiometer. Unplugged it, found green corrosion (condensation I suspect), tried to clean it with some success and now unit works sporadically, maybe not the ECU afterall, so I will probably now pull everything back apart, clean up all contacts in harnesses, plugs etc and see if i "stumble" on where the poor connections are.
