Default diff speed transducer wiring

Hiya

I'm building an AC Cobra replica using the XJS front & back axles. I want to use the speed transducer mounted in the diff to drive my speedo.
There are 3 wires red & blue and white. The white ends up as shield,

So... this is the 3 wire sender correct?

I'm assuming (or arsuming lol) that red is live 12v feed, shield is -ve leaving blue for signal. Can anyone confirm this before I blow it up please

Here is the wiring diagram. You'll need the interface unit as well, ignition switched power goes to the green wire of the interface unit. The blue wire of the interface unit gives you a speedometer pulse of 8,000 pulses per mile.

There is no reference voltage for a VR sensor, the VR its self generates the voltage, it is a sinewave of usually about 5volts rms.

In the Jag the VR goes into the speed interface unit, this has a schmitt trigger and a counter and outputs a 5volt squarewave. You could build your own if you know how if not just purchase the Jag interface unit and then connect this to your speedo.

I've just had a look and a used unit is £60 in UK... I can buy a whole new sensor kit for half that so it looks like I'm going to have to just use the transducer as a plug :/

I must have typed the same time as you. You could use the speedo correction unit, this should work.
