electromotive is good stuff, cant go wrong except for price.

other than that ,donno.

if i were gonna do my engine over id use a Megasquirt system, with cranktrigger setup, EDIS.
but in all fairness , mine does run good the way it is. old tech but does the job.

Crane XR700 box, optical sensor , triggered off the coil, with a resistor. hey it works ,been 16yrs, thats better than LUCAS!

i saw Tom Mackie Racing using an advanced version of this on their setup. the reason i like it is it is actually able to run a 12 cylender setup and output a 6cyl tach signal. for when i get around to doing self tuning efi. Its also fully adjustable for the curves with dials. its pretty cool.

This stuff runs about $3K, but there is one bloke in South Africa, who builds nice dual EDIS setup for this V12s.

Hi all, I am just putting together a system. I already have a Atronic SM4 ecu running my injectors, and have put a trigger sensor in the bottom on the distributor. I just need to work out what coil packs i am going to use and have the distributor capped off.

Same here, I'm just wondering how much of an effort it is and if I'm up to the task.
If that's how you go, let us know what the process is like.

so while i was pondering this last night, i thought maybe i should build a setup with the 2.5in trigger wheel inside the distrubutor wheel. cap off the distributor with a brushed piece of aluminum. what do you guys think?

I have the Electromotive TEC1 (Total Engine Control ie: spark and fuel) which I am swapping over from my donor vehicle to JagZilla. However, because I have a huge hatred for, and limited knowledge of vehicle wiring, this is the step which has my entire project hung up.

I DO know that not all Electromotive systems will work for the V12. The TEC1 does, and I believe only one or two others.

this has got to be a small world!! about this post.

i guy called me this morning, and said i got a 1986 XJS with a 6.0L in it, and using a complete Electromotive ,6 coil system, tuneable by his laptop.

he said he was in the area, and would like to come by and show me his car.

drives up in an immaculate, red XJS coupe, running smooth and quiet.

he let me drive it, MAN, was i surprised, it was quick, more than i expected. he drives it most every day, and on long trips, today over 400miles oneway.

and this guy is older than me, really knows his car.

odd how a subject is here on J/F and someone i never heard of shows up with a car all done, i think that is called a SYNCRONICITY,when two energy thoughts meet out of the expanse of the Universe.
life never stops surprising me.

x2 on this, I have been running Megasquirt on a a different car for years as a full standalone and it can be scaled back to just do whatever you need.

Sounds a lot like that guy might be Chad Bolles.

I spoke to Philip Lochner from SA and he said that to make EDIS based ignition run to its fullest potential, entire ECU needs to go into trash can. Megasquirt is what he suggests, since he has a lot of experience and mapping for it. Also MS is rather affordable, where other professional solutions are blowing my budget wide open.
