Im working on replacing a wiper switch and in the process noticed that the copper colored plate (where my thumb on) doesnt sit flat and it raised up about a milimeter on the left side on top of a piece of black plastic. i figured i would ask before i put everything back together

that looks ok to me,

the plate is the spring return for the push forward function of the stick, its sprung steel, with an anodised coating, they turn a copper colour with age,

put it all together and see if it works as it did before
