Default Does my 1990 3.6 xjs have an immobiliser

Hi all

An XJS (1990 3.6) i have bought has been parked up for 16 years and now im getting her back on the road. She worked fine when parked up but not working now

I have put a new battery on and all the lights in the cluster light up but the car wont turn over (starter motor is okay - engine is not seized).

Potential causes are?

key Fob isn't working (can I get a new battery for it)

Is there an immobiliiser I need to deactivate. If so how do I do it?

Is there some other security measure that is preventing the car from starting

Many thanks

Richard

Can't say Richard since they were not a standard fitment. More often than not if jaguar security is fitted there will be at least one CATS decal on a window somewhere.
My '89 had a unit fitted but l have since disabled it. It was under front seat but l think normal fitting position is in the boot/trunk nearby to radio antenna.
The internal backup battery will be well and truly toast by now.
