Default Driver side window won't work

Driver side window won't work, but passenger side does. This just happened, I notice there are no fuses for the windows. Any help? 89 XJS coupe

Everyone is going to tell you to check the switches. There is no difference, so unplug the pass switch and use it on the drivers side to determine if its the switch.
If you get nothing, next thing you could do is pop off the door panel and plug a 12v power source directly into the window motor after unplugging it. Try a combination of connections, reversing neg and pos switches between up and down.

If that doesn't work your motor is kaput. Remove the motor and regulator and try to operate it out of the window, without load. If it works then the gears are worn or the motor has had it.

I don't recall much of the circuit, so if they work with direct 12v but don't work with the known good passenger switch, there is something between those causing a problem, usually bad ground.

Post with any more info you gather, so we can help you out and assist in diagnosing the problem.

I just replaced my drivers side regulator and motor because the gears stripped out.

Default Window is up

Pulled up on window while holding switch down, motor made a sound like it was not contacting the gears, got it up though and will leave it up for the winter.
Thanks for your tips.

Same problem with my 89 xjs. After bench testing the motor while installed, found that the window is sticking in the window channels or the bailey channel.... will disassemble this winter and find out where it is sticking... but motor and switches are ok. Don't throw money at the problem until you know what the problem is !!
