Engine Progress and Matching Numbers
This engine is slowly giving up its secrets. Today I took off the valve covers and the camshafts look great for hibernating since 1991. I was also able to get to the engine number to verify that it is a matching numbers car. Now comes the fun part, cleaning it.
Since the camshafts and pistons (borecam) look good, I am thinking about slowly putting it back together. New dizzy, new injector harness, new seals, new thermostats, new coolant hoses, new fuel lines, one new injector rail, rebuilt radiator.
Is there anything else I should replace while I am at it? And where do I find the idiot that decided to put the engine number on the back of the engine?
