Default Facelift Front Seats
Question:

Are the right and left seats identical? Can one side be used in place of the other?

The bottoms are identical, the backs are not because of the latching mechanism to allow access to the back seat. You can swap the backs fairly easily,

Yes, I took another look and did notice the latch for rear seat access. The bottoms being identical opens up some possibilities. Thanx.
