Solved!!

You and Elinor, aka LnrB ought to swap tales. She is a mechanic savvy farm raised gal as well. Her hubby is similarly inclined. Only her "NIX" is a lumped XJ wuzza six.

Dsidera (sp) is a gal with a V12 project. Very mechanic oriented as well.

Step by step, one fault at a time gets it.

I always enjoy meeting other females who have some mechanical knowledge. I do have a manual for the Jag, as well as my two trucks, and my Harley Davidson. It has to be a really complicated job for me not to fix things myself. The Jag I bought was a one owner car until I bought it. She was loved by her first owner, and now she is loved again. The weather is hampering me on working on the car, as well as my internet connection as mine is satellite. I have learned quite a few things from this forum, and thank everyone for their advise. I guess the problem I am having with my manual is I will look up something specific and of course since I don't speak the Queen's English, I end up having to find the translation to American English. I'm getting there. My other problem with fixing my car at this moment is that I am still trying to recover from being hit by the rookie truck driver. Talk about irony a big truck driver being hit by a big truck. Was just glad I was driving my Ford truck at the time. She got thrown about 200 feet in the air. She was fixed long before me. I am still dealing with physical injuries as well as a brain injury. It hopefully will come around in time. Thank you all so much. You don't know how thankful I am for the advise I've received on this forum.
