Hood struts back in action
Hood struts installed on my '87 XJS. Stock brackets did not survive a wreck, and were gone when I got her, so new ones were fabricated. These struts are longer than stock, and plenty strong, should you be in a similar situation. 1987 Jaguar XJS: Hood struts installed

Nice job.
What size is that Yamaha MX in the background?
Judging by the shape of the tank, and dark-colored stripe design (I can't see much more than that in the pic), I'm guessing its a 1972 MX360 (black stripe), or possibly a rare 1972 LT100 (green stripe). The '73 MX80 had a purple stripe, but, it was a much smaller bike. If I could see the stripe color better, I could tell what size bike it is.

Even more rare... it's a sc500. 1973 Yamaha SC500 Test | Vintage Motocross
Has about the same power to weight ratio as my sport bike, but fewer manners. Looking for one?

I had forgotten that Yammy made that bike. I remember being 10 years old, standing next to it, cranking on the throttle, in a West Palm Beach Yamaha dealership, telling my dad I wanted that bike. I ended up going home with an MX80. I guess he didn't think an 80 pound kid could handle an open-classer as a 1st bike.
