Default How would you.....?

I'm looking to get some ideas.
I've been cleaning up the dirt and grease in the "V" after taking off the Inlet Manifolds and just about ready to remove the Cam Covers themselves. The old paint is starting to flake off the covers and needs to be removed before I respray. So, the question is, how would you go about stripping off the old paint?
Thanks,
Bill

I'd try some citristrip gel. It can be brushed or dabbed into place and rinsed clean with water. As strippers go citristrip is slow so be prepared to leave it for awhile.

Yeah, just use your 'paint stripper of choice'. Most auto parts stores sell 'Aircraft Paint Stripper' that I like....can't rmemeber the brand name. 3M maybe?

Cheers

Thanks gentlemen, sounds like a plan.

I'm thinking, for paint, a gloss black with the raised ridges being silver. That would match the Top Cover.

Make sure to prime it and do everything in high heat paint! Don't wanna dig in there again in a month when you see it flaking off

I'd try to find a semi-gloss or satin black. Gloss black out of a can tends to look very much like its out of a can

Yeah, I think you're right. If the idea is to match it to the Top Cover, then a satin finish would be the way to go.
