I finally got an XJS Coupe'
After years of admiring jags, It feels good to finally own an XJS. I sold my 1982 RoW 911 cuz I need the money to buy a place live in. Finding a cheap replacement car that I can pay for in cash, and have it be reliable, whilst retaining a level of prestige was going to be tough. I was determined to get a coupe. My wife owns a 996 Cab so it had to be a coupe of some sort. I wanted a jag so I googled every jag coupe I could afford, It didnt take long for me to find one, although they are hard to find. I simply got lucky. This beautiful 1994 XJS 4.0 is simply outstanding and although not a 911, it still has soul and sporty feel. Glad to be here!
What do you guys think?

Thanks Everyone! I wont be needing a cover. Shes my daily driver, although I prolly dont have to drive her everyday if I drove our beater 300e which serves as a grocery getter. Anyway I'm afraid to mess with the exhaust since its all original and in good shape and I know I'll feel guilty if I start chopping that up. One thing I noticed is that I do feel that theres a constant flow of light heat in the cabin which can build up if I dont run the AC. Its not the vents I believe. It could be engine/trans/heater core heat dissipating into the cabin? This morning it seemed to be less heat, plus there was less traffic. Do you guys experience any cabin heat w/o the AC?

Firstly nice car I love black XJS's.
The heat is a standard feature and a PITA. The vacuum controlled heater tap turns on when the AC is turned off and allows hot water into the heater element. A simple fix is to add second tap that you can turn off manually. Another idiosyncrasy is that you can not get cold air on defrost HEAT ONLY really great if you live in a hot wet climate like me.

Thanks Mates! So its a pretty nice evening here in Los Angeles, and I simply dont find the need to run the AC. But it does get noticeably warm inside, especially my right foot or the gas foot(RHD) if I dont. Is there anyway to disconnect this feature, and I can reconnect it once I find a need for warm air in the mild LA winters? Is there DIY? I could really use your help with this. My right foot is still warm. Hahaha!

I actually went the opposite direction - I deleted the mufflers and left the resonators. Given the little effort this took, I'm happy with the sound. It's not too loud and not too soft.

It is the heater tap that turn on almost ALL of the time (see my last post) Just add another tap that can be operated manually.

AJ6 engineering has some good exhaust systems. Roger knows Jaguars and makes exhausts that do more than lighten your wallet.
