Default I got a virus scam alert here

I was replying to a post and a big box came up, said I had a backdoor virus attach and not to shut computer down or I would loose all my stuff, etc.
I could not click out of it and I knew it was a scam so I shut down came back on and all is OK.
Probably wrong but I think maybe someone new on here did it somehow or maybe not.

That does happen from time to time. Some rogue code can be served up by those who advertise on the site. Since ive started using adblocker it hasnt occured for me.

Keep your anti-virus up to date and use an ad blocker as well.
I have found the ads can take up a hell of a lot of space on the page when I'm using the little netbook.

You got a pop-up, not the same as a virus.
