Default Jaguar XJS Eventer

I found somewhat of a rare bird. A Jaguar XJS Eventer. Could be just the ticket for some of our enterprising technicians making a long distance delivery of parts.

Pretty trick, and thanks for paying attention...

The one I saw that caught my eyes was a number of years ago, built in Australia:
they took an XJS and rebuilt the rear end, aft of the stock rear screen, into a pickup truck bed. Think Chevy El Camino...it was really cool looking.

Hi Jagtech,

Here is one seen in Italy. Had an article in Jalopnik. Looks pretty trick. If you were really enterprising you could set it up like the Chevy Avalanche to have the rear window and panel removable. I would go with a teak decking and have a wine cooler built in like the Rapide.

That's what I'm talking about...is that cool, or what? From the profile, it still almost looks like an XJS coupe. I was wrong about the rear screen though, I just went out and looked at one of mine,,,the bed would be really small. The Italitruck looks modified quite a bit at the rear bulkhead to make the bed longer. Then there's the issue about gas tank size/ relocation. But it's not like trying to build a stretch limo or something like that.

A rollover XJS 4.0 coupe would be the perfect candidate.

Was the Eventer an actual production model?

I think NOT, but I don't know for sure. Only the X Type design team is that daft. There are Estate versions of XJ's as well, and I believe they are also home brew.

As far as I know the Eventer was a limited production car from Lynx in the UK. They also do the Lynx D-Type and Lynx XKSS which are based off XKE donor cars.

Here is the Lynx website. They can do a variety of projects for customers, but bring plenty of money. I kind of like the turbocharged S-Type.
