A little tip
Temp gauge not working? Replaced the sending unit? Can't find the problem? (XJS,Older models that have been around awhile). Electronic odometer not working but speedometer is? Mine weren't until I changed my battery (I took off the cover which hides everything). On the right of the battery there are two bolts (above the anchorage for the negative battery cable). Where a bunch of ground wires are attached. Mine were rusty and crudded up. CLEAN these and you may very well solve the above mentioned problems. I'm like giddy, NEVER have I fixed something so important in so little time and effort. I hope this helps someone else that has been driven crazy by these cars. They're a P.I.T.A. but when they work right...what a car! Bud Cheers!!

Good work!
Now spend a Saturday going thru the entire car cleaning every ground point, fuse clip, and electrical connector/contact you can find. When you're done you'll have preemptively solved about 90% of the much ballyhooed "Lucas, Prince of Darkness" problems.
Repeat every 10-12 years :-)
Cheers
