Welcome here roadhammer!!
We can't tell if this price is a good deal when we don't know the condition of the car. when it's technical and optical in good condition I would say yes.
A car in good condition values between 10K an 20K euros in Europe
Problem area's of an XJ-SC from this era are rust, electric wiring (+relays) and the auto transmission. Also the 6cyl is much easier to work on than the V12.
If you live in a sunny dry area rust might not be an issue but then mostly the leather interior and wood panneling are bad. Never heard of problems with manual transmissions. Check (or let some mechanic check) engine and suspension. And finally when ALL electrics in the car work the car usually has been well maintained.
I hope you find a nice cat and many happy miles.

I have a sweet 1989 Jaguar xjs, however heating and cooling not working. It was working until about 6 months ago, but compressor would never turn off even with the heat/ac switch turned off. Also around that time a puff of white smoke emitted from under the passenger side dash. After that the car doesn't get very warm in the winter and no AC. Can't even get outside air through vents. The temp swich doesn't seem to work at all. Much thanks to anyone who can help me with this.
