Default Looking for new wheels

Any thoughts on where to find new/newer chrome wheels for my 1996 XJS? I'm not a big fan of aftermarket wheels and would like to avoid that if possible. The wheels I have were mistreated at some point and have some dull spots in the finish.

I've looked around eBay but haven't had any luck. Does anyone have any ideas where to look?

Are you looking for the 16" wheels that have 11 slots around the perimeter of the rim or the ones with 5 spokes? I would look into having them professionally refurbished as that might be cheaper than another set of chrome wheels in good or new condition. I have had some lattice style and 5-spoke style refinished with excellent results. Neither were chrome however and I'm guessing that chrome will add a bit to the costs. There has to be a lot of options in the Chicago area.

Another advantage of refinishing your existing set is that you know the condition of the rims and how they ride.

I've also bought a set of refinished XJS wheels in the past from www.wheelcollision.com via eBay. Their website seems to be down at the moment. Or try originalwheels.com. Those companies seem to pick up used sets then refinish and sell them. And keep an eye on eBay and Craigslist.

Why don't you look for a company that will restore and re-chrome the wheels that you have?

I decided to go with Wheel Concepts out west. I'll probably wait until next spring to pull the trigger and will update once I get the re-chromed wheels.
