Default lt rear brake binding

My 86 xjs was stored in a garage in central california (pretty low humidity) for about 4 years. I got it out of storage, but the left rear brake won't release. Was able to pry the brake pad away from the disc and turn the lt rear wheel freely, but as soon as I applied the brakes again, it locked up. I was able to drive a few miles, but the pad started to overheat and smoke (that's when I realized I had a problem). Tried to bleed some fluid out, but the bleed screw was frozen.

Anyone have luck freeing the bleed screws? Any tricks?
Is there a proportioning valve of some type that might be stuck, keeping to much pressure to lt rear brake caliper? Is there valve between lt and rt rear brakes? Any help appreciated. I'd love to get this car driveable!

I flushed alot of brake fluid through them, and then pried the brake pads apart enough to get the pads out. Once the pads were out, i was able to force the pistons all the way open. I then put the pads back in and forced them open, the pumped brake pedal to close then, then repeated about a dozen times per side. Seems to work well now.

Where in Central California was the car stored? I'm asking because I happen to live in Central California.

Nice, Merced is about an hour and 45 minutes north of me. I live in Visalia which is located 45 minutes south of Fresno. I actually attend school in Fresno where I'm currently trying to get my Masters. One of my classmates actually lives in Merced.

Sacrider, it looks like we're both still having the same problem with our brakes binding.
To answer your question about proportioning valves, on my 84 at least, they don't exist. I've taken apart the entire brake system on this car. I've replaced the Master Cylinder, Brake Booster, all 4 Calipers and have bled the entire system and am still having problems with my brakes binding. I'm totally at a loss!
90 XJ-S, is there anything else that might be going on?
Anyone else?

The 84 does have a proportioning valve. It's located just after the MC. If you don't have one, maybe that's the problem. Part number is c41668.

Really? You said it's after the MC, does that mean it's between the Booster and the MC or on the end of the MC?
If it's between the Booster and MC, where does it go?
Man, I'm so confused.....lol!
