Smile NEED ADVISE RE MY 1984 Jaguar XJS V12 Coupe

Need advise please
I need to replace my Lucus fuel pump in my 1984 Jaguar XJS V12 coupe and not being a fan of Lucus replacement parts am considering installing a new Bosch fuel pump,
I would appreciate if any member has done this on there cars and if so was there any problem with it.
kind regards
Robert.

The originals were Bosch with (perhaps) a Lucas label applied.

You shouldn't have any trouble finding one

Robert,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XJS forum. This is the place to post questions about your model.

Being in OZ, and we have odd cars here.

Commodore, Falcon., BMW, Merc and others all use the same pump on many, many models.

The pump is NOT unique to Jaguar in any way.

Only thing to watch is the terminal + and - stamped on the pump alongside the posts. Some have the larger post as the +ve (normal), some have the -ve as the larger terminal.

The pump will run in either direction, but ONLY pump fuel to the fun bit if wired correctly.

About a 2 stubby task.

Remove ALL the carpet etc from the boot, as fuel spillage WILL take place, and the stink after will drive ya nuts, or to drink.
