New to the XJS. Hope someone can help with an issue I'm having. Can anyone tell me where the black hose in the photo goes? Sprung a leak and I need to replace it.

Welcome to the forum Doug S,

I've copied this question from your Intro thread. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

that's ether the aux air valve hose or the heater hose. it alittle hard to see from that pic.
if heater hose that connects to a long metal pipe, that goes to the front of the car into the top of the bottom outlet of the radiator or into the bottom of the coolant tank. I don't remember which one, ether way there is a long metal pipe. somebody will correct me on that one

if it's the aux air valve that goes into the left side air box.

are you having water or air leak?

As smgdata says pic is not real clear but it looks like air crossover pipe (pipe in foreground) is unplugged from hose stub. Throttle cable usually runs above it not under as in pic.
Looks too big to be heater and orientation is wrong.
If you have a water leak from that vicinity it may be the AAV to water rail gasket. There is no water through the hose itself.

will agree with baxtor, it connects to the cross over pipe (one just forward of it), as for the leak, cannot be sure but could come from the water rail or hose from the heater that connects to the long metal pipe running from back to front. sits somewhat between the motor and fender left side. but more info, and possible some other pics may be of help

I think this problem was fixed in a duplicate thread.
