Nightmare Senario
You go out to your car to check the oil and as you pull the hood release handle you hear a twannng! The cable broke! (That's a nightmare!)
This was not my idea, but it bares repeating. Replace the cable with a bicycle spoke and attach a wire to the locking mechanism and let it dangle in the engine compartment as an emergency pulling devise.
