To be or not to be: to flush system or simply to change coolant...
Hi!
I wanna change coolant of the beast because I don't know when the PO made the last change.
I need Your advices at this point.
The cooling system is properly functioning... Would You perform a complete system flush or would You simply change coolant?
What would You suggest to flush: professional products or demin. water with citric acid -or vinegar- in 25% concentration?
Would You remove the radiator to make it rodded by a pro?

If the cooling system is obviously dirty/rusty, flush it out.
If you are unsure about the condition, flush it out...even if it doesn't look particularly bad.
After you *know* the system is clean then you can keep it clean for years with the simple drain-and-refill with fresh coolant method every two years.
Removing the radiator for professional cleaning is always a good idea on these cars. Internal and external clogs are common.
Once you get everything clean it isn't too hard to keep it clean.

Its funny this thread has come up now, as I am doing mine as I type. I simply removed the bottom hose drained the coolant into a bucket, the backflushed with hose from any outlet I could find. Once it was flushed I reconnected the hose and filled the system with a 50/50 mix of vinegar/tap water, turned on the heater and used Doug's method of bleeding the system, which works really well.
That was last Wednesday, left it in there till Saturday and again drained and flushed with the hose. After I finish typing I'm off to the shops to buy coolant and fill her up. Like you mine was running fine but after seeing some of the awful things done by the PO I thought this was best.
