Default parking brake disconnect

Any tips on disconnecting th e parking brake cable from the cage. The cage is on the ground under the car which is on jack stands to I have some room. The parking brake assembly in the passenger compartment is disconnected. I'd prefer not to cut the cable on the off chance someone needs one.

Hi Brad

Put a 'Dutch Windlass' on the 2 Arms and then pull them together enough to get the Cable out of the Slot, although when I did mine while the Cage was still on the Car I put a pair of 'Locking Pliers' on one of the Arms and then pulled the Arms together

Awkward to do but doable and took about 30 seconds

Easy Way to remove the Hand Brake Cable using Locking Pliers

Thanks, I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Got wiring harness out of the car, what a beast that it.
No progress on the convertible top or the 1/4 windows today but I don't think it will be too much longer. One those are off the body is off to the junk yard.

Thanks to all. Got her out without too much difficulty - except that I am not as strong as I was in my 'super hero' days. lol That is a heavy beast to pick up and move around

I'll try to save the parking brake cable and lever in case someone needs one. I have quite a collection of parts. PM me for needs/wants. I'm not keeping them indefinitely.

IRL and front suspension will be going onto E-bay later this week as a package deal.

Thanks for asking that question. I have been wrestling with that cable too. It looked simple and I thought that was the way to do it, but i wasnt applying enough will power to overcome the cars force of habit.
