Default parts help for windshield gasket

In the parts manual I have, there are two components that make up the front windshield shield. Part BD 44236, which seems to have been superseded by BDC7178 is the front windshield gasket.

The locking strip, which I show as BD 15466/2, shows up as an E-Type rear window locking strip when I search various parts dealers.

Does anyone know the correct part number for the front windshield locking strip, and where I might buy one?

Thanks,

John

John,

The Jaguar parts website seem to show it as BD48847. I'm not sure where you got that other number from. Which part of the website or parts manual showed that number?

Cheers

Paul

Paul,

See attachment. This was originally downloaded from captainjaguarscathouse.com.

In any case, the part # your provided (and thank you for that!) seems now to be 18-5500 "Jaguar Lock Strip".

I've got the parts on order from XKs Unlimited, who want's less than half of what the local Jag dealer would charge.

Now I just have to find someone to install it!

Thanks,

John,

John,

The part number did change on XJSs. I think the number you quoted was used on early XJSs (but I'm not sure it was used on the rear of E-types?) but I'm pretty sure it then superseded to the part number that I quoted. I do believe it's always worth you just looking at the Jaguar parts website first to find and verify any part number before sourcing it.

Cheers

Paul
