Pink insulation coming from vents
Is there anyone that can tell me what would cause this? The moment I turn in the air conditioning (heat or cool), I have a pink insulation bits blowing out onto my passenger side carpet?
Sounds like a squirrel nest. I can't think of any other source unless you had an idiot for a previous owner. Time to tear off some footwell panels and investigate. Also the windshield wiper grille.
Ha! looks like what my yard squirrel did to my truck's Turbo blanket, can't fault her though it was quite a comfy blanket she tore up. I'd suggest a shop-vac to suck the crap out as much as possible, you may get a face full of insulation for awhile until it clears the system.
If that was my car I'd be investigating HOW the critter got in there at all, I'm having a hard time imagining unless your drainage pipes are missing? Rodent damage is not uncommon particularly with cars that sit outside or were neglected.

OMG - that is insane..............lucky no squirrels in NZ, worst is rats. Had a friend that had a rat eat a hole in a radiator hose on a brand new SUV.. 10K on the clock. Result blown engine.
Insurance replaced the car as it was a lease car.

To put this in perspective. There’s a “crawl space” under that panel beside the air inlet grill. I filled a garbage bag full of nest buried deep in there. I kinda wish I had found a mouse though, still worried it’s lurking around in there. Also have no idea how much went down into the ducting, or if there’s more nest down inside the ducting. This car was in storage for a while. I’m considering buying an endoscope.
