Pulling to one side upon braking
Dears:
I am currently examining a '89 3.6 Coupe for potential purchase. It has only 35K miles! However upon test drive, I noticed a significant pulling to the right upon braking. Now, I'd been told that the ATE actuator may cause this, and it is a NLA part, or otherwise extremely expensive part if found used. How do I distinguish whether it is indeed the actuator at fault, or a simple alignment problem, or a caliper problem? The pulling is even during the deceleration process, not a twitch of the steering wheel.
If indeed the actuator is to blame, remedy suggestions are also highly appreciated. Is it rebuildable? Are there conversion options to replace the ATE system altogether?
