piston removal, absolute nighmare

hi guys im anew member and just got an red v12 xjs white interior. immaculate. body ok just front cills need attention and inner guard in engine bay. now...... the engine was seized bad for ten years maybe. but ive extracted it striped it and am rebuilding it slowly. bought big end and ring small end and head gaskets kits also new rins for all. my god the are a nightmare to get out with damage. doing the work myself. not new to the classic restore. have done mggbt. 85 rx7. and a mitsu starion lately. but have always wanted the jag. ive loads of oics of work done so far and would love a chat about any bad points or if I can give any advice please feel free to ask. hopefully itll be worth it in the end. just getting used to the site so sorry if post not up to much

 

Car looks great! Good luck with the mechanicals - afraid I don't have any advice there. You've pulled the engine and are way beyond my knowledge. Keep posting pics, and welcome to the forum!

 

Seems very few guys have gone this deep. You are in a club with very few members, as even most career mechanics won't touch these cars. After building a couple of V12s, I feel much more confident in ownership. Ask away, and i'll give what advice I can. Building a 6.0 at the time to go in my 89 convertible.
