Replacing rear (driver side) reflector on 1994 XJ-S
I'm a new member with two Jaguars - a 1994 XJ-S convertible and a 2004 X-Type. I've got a broken rear reflector and need the serial number from the back of it to replace it, but can't figure out how to remove it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Sandy
If this is the rectangular reflector that is embedded in the rubber bumper, it should easily come out with a flat putty knife. I put some shipping tape on a drywall spackling knife, then pry from the end of the reflector. On the 93, these two reflectors are "push in".
I just replaced both of my rear bumper reflectors that were cracked. I figured out that by just pulling on them they popped out. On of them I had to break the lens a bit to get a hold on it. When you find a replacement (link included) don't forget to take the little metal anchors off the plastic posts on the back of the old reflectors and slide them all the way down the plastic posts on the new ones, which can be slightly difficult. Next, just pop 'em back in. I've purchased a number of things from this guy on ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/GOORGEN-PALAN...&_sid=95573519
good luck.
