Default Small window wont go up on convertible 92 XJS

Recently, the small rear window (quarterlight?) on my 92 XJS convertible V12 has stopped going up when I raise the top. The passenger side one goes up and down no problem. Any suggestions as to sort out this problem would be greatly appreciated.

If the other side is working fine, start by swapping the 2 up / down relays for that side with the 2 for the non-working side. If the problem swaps across, you have your answer. Don't start stripping the window motor yet!

If swapping relays doesn't work, a strategic tap on the window motor itself can work miracles.

For some reason these window motors can randomly work themselves into a stuck state and a tap does the trick.

Pump motor and relays are in the box behind the seats on the passenger side. Take the side interior out and tap the window motor with something hard

Default Quarter window fixed +++

Well, the fuses and relays were all good so I took the car to a friend who had rebuilt an E-Type and a Mk2. He found that the motor to gearbox had screws missing. He replaced those and cleaned the commutator and brushes. Job done. Quarter window now goes up and down with soft top.

In addition, he addressed a woomp, woomp sound from under the car. The exhaust tail pipe was rubbing on the passenger side drive shaft. Temporary fix. Needs cutting and welding. Booked in for Monday.

Finally he noted a bushing was missing from the steering rack. He's ordered a replacement for me.

Total cast $90.00. Cant beat that.
