Speedometer and odometer issue

Speedometer and odometer issue
I tried to use a Snap-on code reader tool to read codes at my data connection port (OBD2) and it was raining out ( I think this is relevant) There might have been a drop of water on the connector when I plugged it in.
As soon as I went to drive away I noticed my speedometer was not working. Neither is my odometer. Before I tried to plug in the Snap-on tool all was fine. Cruse is also knocked out but that actually makes sense if the speedometer isn't working. All the lights on the dash are good and the rest of the gauges work as they should.
Is there a fuse or link or relay I shorted out?
Thanks in advance for your help guys.

Hitch:
There might not be a cause/effect on using the Scan.
No cruises is a definite clue. As you say.
I'm not familiar with your car. But, the sender on either the transmission or in some cases, as I recall on the differential. No pulse, no numbers!!!
Add in the moisture comment. Rain. Each location sensitive to road water!!! Ford any deep water???
That is where I would look.
Or, just wait for things to dry out. Some things just fix themselves!!!!
