Hey from Minnesota, Had my 84 xjs for 2 years and have an on going problem with my steering wheel coming back to center position after making a turn to the left or right.Wheel can be off center by 1/4 or more then come back close to center after making another turn,any ideas? Did a search found nothing. thanks Steve

 

Take a good look at your rack and pinion mounting bushings. They've probably disentegrated to the point where the rack just sorta flops around, leaving the steering wheel to "land" in different positions.
