Default Stupid cars!

Finally received the 2nd hand radiator for the V12 Cabbie to try and sort out the overheating problem.
As the weather was rather nice (but cold) I thought that I would take it out for a spin to blow the cobwebs out of it.
Started up and the low coolant light came on which was a first.
Checked the levels under both caps and they were both full.
Opened the bleed valve on the radiator and much gurgling ensued. Topped up and went for a blast around the lanes and it didn't overheat: stupid car. Will it overheat again or is it fine now?
It did however lose the screenwash, heater and stereo: stupid, stupid car.
Thought I would then take the 4 litre Coupe for a zoom around as it has been stood idle for a few weeks.
Started up followed by much squealing, smoke and charge fault light illuminated.
Shut off, disconnected battery and investigated but nothing obvious to be seen.
Tried again, no squealing but still smoking.
Got her indoors to start it whilst I stuck head in engine bay but still nothing obvious apart from (funny smelling) smoke.
Grabbed alternator belt and it was red hot so that explains where the smoke was coming from, alternator seized: stupid car.
Subaru in for repair as it was running out of brakes, turned out to be leaking brake pipe above fuel tank so that isn't going to be cheap: stupid car.
Going to see the boat tomorrow so that has probably sunk or been flooded into somebodys garden.
Drinking wine now until depression goes away (could be some time!)
