Default vapor canister

Two questions...

1. See photo. In the lower right you can see that one vacuum hose is missing, and the other is cut (outside the view of the photo). Where do they go?

2. Palm talks about a problematic rochester valve, but I'm not comprehending well because I can't tell where it is supposed to be. Is it in this photo, or is it somewhere between the photo and the fuel tank.

I may be wrong but I belive the Rochester valve is the round black piece on the left lower corner of your pic.
