Default What is the tool JD175

Hi all,

I have a 94 XJS and looking to put in a new fuel pump this weekend. My online repair manual makes mention of tool "JD175". Is that merely a wrench that lessens the possibility of spark or is it something special that has to be had to get the tank out??

Also, someone on another thread made mention of a sump tank hose. Does anyone know if this is something on a 94. I have only found it listed up through 92.

Thanks,

Tony

I believe its the nut driver with a brass shaft on it, to prevent any static?? Must just be a hose clamp on the fuel hose to be removed.

. Jaguar recommends use of a special non-ferrous wrench, tool JD175, for removing fuel hose clamps located inside fuel tank. This is to eliminate the possibility of sparks being created.

Hi Tony,

be interested to know which engine in your XJS and how you go with the task.

I have a feeling I may need to replace my fuel pumps shortly as one makes a squealing noise intermittently.
