What was wrong with this one as a starting point? Looking for a 6L?

Nothing really. I think I'm going to keep it, but it was a one owner car and for its age still pretty nice. I was planning to sell it to buy a cheaper one, say $2000 when they come up and put the rest of the money into parts.

From the MOT station. Approved with an advisory on hazard lights, which was not working at all. I had never used them and hadn't thjought of testing the function before MOT.
Tomorrow I can celebrate the cars 40th birthday

A little oily at the rear there Leo!

But 40 years... That is an age... Mine is not even 30 yet!

The oily look in the rear is due to Dinitrol, sprayed on dry and therefore slightly rusty faces.

My only fluid loss on this car is PAS fluid, the steering rack needs to be refurbished soon...

As my water bottle is badly corroded inside, I used the offer at SNG and bought a new one...

I like new parts!

I don't need it instantly, but if I can save a few bob, well why not?

Boring???? Although, white is not my color of choice, that one could find favor here.

There are oily Jaguars and rusty Jaguars ! In some climes, never both !!!

Whew, went out to fetch the garbage cans ! F's climbing. And, worse yet, so is the humidity. Poked at the chipper. Not responsive.

Visiting cats fed. Coco fed. Book keeping aka bill paying and hibernation
on today's agenda.

Default Greetings, 1st Post here

My wife just came home with this car without my knowledge at all last week! She grew up with Jaguars and her dad had many E-Types, XJ6s & etc for past 40 years or so. She has always been into XJS and she has known the owner of this car and apparently they had an agreement to sell it to her if he was to ever sell it.

It is a 1992 with 21K miles on it and it is 100% as factory delivered down to its original tires. It has never been in any bad weather and maintained religiously while still keeping it 100% original.

I would like to either get new tires for it (P600s) but a part of me wants to change out the rims so that factory delivered wheels & tires remain with us for show purposes.... So the search is on for a new set of rims & tires. Jury is out weather we want Revolvers, Asteroids or my personal favorite "Penta's". Or.......?

Of course we wont be driving this thing around on highway speeds until the 26 year old tires are taken care of.....

Here are couple of pictures from the evening she brought it home.

Looking fw to being part of this community.

That's a very clean car indeed. You could eat off that engine....

Summer in Japan means: sweltering humidity, soaring temperatures, engine temperatures rather hotter than I like, and lots and lots of rice growing in the paddy fields.... Taken by a small rural village in the nearby hills.
I couldn't narrow them down to just one photo, sorry....

If you can't get it to stay running... do something else. The left side got chipped and peeled off quite a bit, so I needed to do something.

I loved the brushed look but it just didn't match the rest of the car that way
