My '82 XJS has the wing (spoiler) on the trunk lid. I've seen very few of these and I'm wondering how many were made like that and how rare that is.

Back then it was an aftermarket Jaguar accessory, usually dealer fitted at delivery. Some were fitted later in life (mine for example), and then I "think" it was deleted at the update??. The required addition of struts to hold the boot lid up with extra weight also made it quite expensive.

It was, and still is, a subjective addition, much like the leaper.

I have seen very few down here in all my years.
