Default Rear view mirror : The Saga Continues

So I received the refurbished unit back from Sybesma yesterday,I waited until today to have the guys doing my audio upgrade & head liner to have them attach it. They give me a call & tell me they can't install due to a metal clip being broken. Now the mirror was sturdy as ever & was detached by a Safelite mobile windshield tech. about 2 weeks ago.

My quandary is, should I pursue Safelite to replace it or is it a lost cause & what are my options to re-install. The mirrors practically brand new now with the refurbishing. I will attach a pic & show the clip & any info. on how to acquire a new clip would be greatly appreciated. X308s are a rare find in salvage yards around here. I do know of a place with some XJ6s on hand to pull from, but would that be compatible ?

The metal clip looks to be one piece with a torx that holds it in place. Mine is broken off on the left.

Go to the JAGBITS web site and fill out a parts inquiry. When Dan gets back to you semd him the picture. They handle new and used parts and Dan has gotten some pretty unusual parts for me.

Thanks for the tip I'm also hoping the XJ6's mirror set-up is compatible as there's a guy with several in-state.

I had to go thru some papers in the garage but i found a receipt for some old hard to find stuff for my XJ8. Take a look at this web site and drop them a line. I am sure they will have a mirror for cheap but with all of the items he has he might have just the bracket.
