Default XJS 6.0 V12 Starting problems

Having problems with my 1994 6.0 V12 and was wondering if anyone could help.

I bought the car abroad and had it shipped over. It was all running before. When i got the car, it wouldn't start. I tired jumping it but the engine turns over and doesn't fire up.

I put a new battery on it and it turned over on its own but still didnt fire up. I then checked all the fuses and the ecu fuse 15a was blown. So put a new one in and it started fine.

When it started up - the battery warning light was on all the time. On testdrive of about half a mile it misfired and switched off and water starting leaking out the bottom of the car.

Upon further inspection, the coolant expansion tank was leaking, which i have changed. Also i had to recharge the battery as it seems like the alternator is not charging it. Still cannot get it to start.

I have changed spark and fuel but still no luck. If i crank it for a long time it does want fire up but it it does - its only for a few seconds.

I can smell fuel and can hear the fuel pump priming.

Another thing i was thinking was someone may of jumped it and spiked something and that could of blown the alternator - im just thinking of the worst.

Any help would be appreciated

Im based in Milton Keynes

Pull the alternator and get it tested. Check the ground straps.

The brushes can wear out too, it's part of the voltage regulator if it's a Bosch alternator. How many miles are on it?
