Some Sunday Drag Times
Took the car out to the strip for the first time and the results are below. Obviously my reaction times are horrible as I was more concerned about the launch which was tricky to say the least.
1st run mid throttle until it hooked then full throttle.
2nd run ~75% throttle with major wheel spin then full throttle at hook up
3rd run power brake at 3k RPM then release and slowly push to full throttle. This felt the best but I didn't have time for a fourth run as I had to get to the Cavallino.
I'm sure I can get it into the 11s @120ish after a few more runs and a better reaction time. The heat was an issue as well as track temp was in the high 80s.
For the first time out its ok but theres more in there.
I'm car 9900 BTW

I was on street tires Michelin Pilot Super Sports. A few friends are renting the strip for a day in the next few weeks so I will get my reaction times down and I'm sure it will be in the high 11s.
Next time you go, would you mind trying a run starting in second and see what happens? I am almost willing to bet you will hook up much better and get a faster time.
I'll admit, I am a little surprised your trap speeds aren't higher with the tune. A trip to the dyno would be in order if I were you. I am curious what kind of power you are putting down.
Thanks for posting your results...I bet it was fun ripping down the strip. I might have to try it sometime.

I'll happily try second next time and report the results. I need to take it to the dyno as I was a bit underwhelmed bu the trap speeds my self. The car felt "out of breath" at the end of the strip but I also let the tranny do the shifting and holding it in 5th probably would have resulted in a higher trap. It felt really string until it hit 6th and then it just bonked.

I think to start in second you will have to use manual mode...the paddle shift from 2nd to 3rd will be the trickiest because you know it will come FAST. The rest I think you will do great. I see 11's in your near future...!
I believe you are right 1st is useless and the car shifts to second right away. Next time I'll be in manual mode and will hold 5th at the end of the strip.
Now just need to cut down the reaction times

Just remember that reaction time has nothing to do with ET. No matter if you have 0.500 or 3.500 R/T. 60ft 1.95s is already good, so not very much to improve at that side.
Did you race with T/C on or off? Dynamic mode? Just curious, when I get my car it will be at the track quite often.
I get a lot of attention there now with my lincoln running mid 13's, I can only imagine what it will be like in a Jaguar.
I think some drag radials would really help a lot and lower your 60 ft times. You're gaining about 25 mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4 so thats not bad at all, another 4-5 mph would be some strong top end power.

I raced against a super tricked out STI, Nova and a modified M5. I beat the M5(he wasn't happy) the other cars killed me.
The reaction was good, got a lot of compliments on the car and had quite a few ask me about the mods as they are considering XKRs or Jags themselves.

Next time I will also shift manually, as this time I let it shift it self and I think I left some speed on the table in doing so.

I was just watching some in car video of my car on a different evening and it definitely runs out of steam over 5500 in 5th gear, but really strong before. I have the mp4 but can't upload it here.
